“Leaders that avoid expressing gratitude at their place of work are so wrong that I don’t even know where to begin. According to research done on working places, 81% of the people would work more if their bosses were more grateful and 70% would feel better about themselves if their bosses would express gratitude. Being grateful is one of the biggest motivators at work, much more than money (KAPLAN, 2015, p. 154)”.
It has been very common to see clients that approach me looking for a coaching process to come more and more dissatisfied with their current situation in life, with their personal and professional relationships, with their finances or mental health. An analysis is made on the first session as a starting point and we gather information about their complaints so we can establish the origin of those problems.
Most of the time the stress caused by external problems lead people to hide in their own problems, inside the labyrinths of their unconsciousness, and finding a way out to live a life of more freedom and plenitude can be a real challenge.
Today, people come to me much more open to understand the real meaning of those pains. It is clear that the more open they are to comprehend their emotions and actions, the faster the transformation process is achieved.
The most solid way to acknowledge the state of well-being of a person and to appreciate the small things happening at every moment in a person’s life is through gratitude. But can this positive and transformative effect on life be proved? And what is the reason for it to have a real impact on our search for personal satisfaction? It’s all a matter of vibration, of energy.
The human being is energy and lives in constant motion. Our cells are moving and they need to be in a well-being state.
On good occasions such as celebrations, we feel nice and unable to connect with negative emotions in that present moment. The fact of feeling good, in most cases, also generates a feeling of gratitude which elevates our vibration field and makes us feel even more pleasure.
On the other hand, we observe that when we connect with a low energy vibration, we enter a field of dissatisfaction or frustration, due to those emotions.
We observe that in cases where a person goes through conflicts with negative feelings, those emotions can be changed through the process of gratitude. The learning that comes from experiencing negative emotions leads us to wonder: what am I learning from this? This work has the goal to prove that gratitude increases personal satisfaction, leading us to more moments of happiness and pleasure.
The question at hand is: does happiness and pleasure generate moments of gratitude or if gratitude itself increases our happiness and pleasure and this increased level of happiness has an influence on our search for the best performance?
